Online Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education/ Elementary Education
Go from Para Educator to teacher of record in a shortened time with Wichita State University’s Teacher Apprentice Program. Prepare for licensure as a Kansas teacher with online coursework, specially designed for para educators to earn their Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Unified/Elementary education.
This program is in collaboration with Kansas community colleges and technical schools, only leads to licensure only in the state of Kansas, and does not guarantee licensure outside of Kansas. This degree is conferred in Kansas, students enrolling in this program must refer to the licensing agency and requirements in their own state.
The Online BA in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education prepares you for licensure in the following areas:
- Early Childhood Unified (Birth-3rd Grade)
- Elementary Education (K-6th Grade)
- Early Childhood Unified AND Elementary Education
All students who complete this program are eligible for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement.

Wichita State Online students pay in-state tuition regardless of where you live. Additional fees to the tuition rate apply depending on the credits and courses taken. Tuition rates subject to change.

In order to be admitted to WSU’s teacher apprentice program, qualified students must:
- Be employed as a Para Educator
- Meet GPA requirement of 2.0 overall (if you do not meet this, please contact your academic advisor)
- Be admitted to WSU as an adult learner or transfer student
