Special Education (M.Ed.)

30 Credit Hours | 100% Online | $348.38 per Credit Hour*

Our online master’s degree program offers students three areas of emphasis:

Licensure Verification Information

This Master’s Degree in Special Education may not lead to licensure, unless you hold a valid Kansas teaching license. Students outside of Missouri, Oklahoma, Nevada and Colorado, may have additional requirements to obtain their SPED teaching license. Every student should verify with their state’s teacher licensing board what is required to teach SPED in their area.

Master's in Counseling (M.Ed.)

45-60 Credit Hours | On Campus | $348.38 per Credit Hour*

With a strong background in human growth and development as well as communications, you’ll gain the skills you need to become a counselor capable of assisting clients in developing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral strengths. Students in the Master of Education in Counseling program can choose to focus on the following tracks:

  • School Counseling (48 credit hours)
  • Clinical Mental Health (60 credit hours)
  • Higher Education Counseling (45 credit hours)
  • Sports Counseling (60 credit hours)

Use your M.Ed. in Counseling to meet the requirements of Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) for Licensed School Counselors and Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board for Licensed Professional Counselors. Completing a M.Ed. in Counseling, students are able to provide counseling services in a wide range of settings, including Pre K-12 schools, colleges/universities, and agencies.
